I would like to propose an initiative for the city of Charleston, WV for the week starting with the Sunday on or after the 4th of July each year called Catalog Buying Week, and invite all cities in rural areas to propose the same initiative for their regions. This will be a week where we get used to buying from catalogs (which usually means buying full-price high-quality items, plus shipping) to celebrate Capitalism and to get used to the energy of bringing in money. From a psychological perspective, the high-quality items are a substitute for money, and though you pay money to get them, you feel on a subconscious level that you are getting more money back, and that you are getting money you don’t deserve back and doing so by buying products you don’t deserve–though in reality those products are affordable to you and you do have the spending cash for them. Please feel free to start your own marketing efforts for Catalog Buying Week in your communities!
Also, July 9th every year can be Capitalism in America Day, where we celebrate and give thanks for Capitalism, and educate our own people about the details of how to live in and support a Capitalistic society with the way they handle their money and purchases. It can be a day for companies to educate employees about how job tasks and duties assigned to them are ultimately supporting Capitalism in America. If your country is a Capitalist nation you can celebrate the day nationwide or in your home, but the day is not an ‘Economy Day’ where other types of economic systems will be celebrated alongside Capitalism.
For the New Age community, the Christmas shopping season could be a time for–after buying gifts–purchases on sale for oneself that are about self-love, self-soothing, self-pampering, and self-care. These include clothes, jewelry, purses and wallets, shoes, makeup, grooming supplies, cooking supplies, cooking ingredients, gourmet food products, and books or entertainment products. If you are New Age it is your duty to decorate a Christmas tree with ornaments, because the Angels say that a decorated tree–either fake or real–shields the community around it.
The Easter season could be when we–in addition to our spiritual practices and gratitude for Spring–plan or purchase travel and educational opportunities for ourselves, as well as purchasing work supplies.
New Age practitioners should ask for their birthdays off from work and should spend their birthdays by themselves, even if that means leaving town for the day or a few days.
New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day celebrations should be tied to astrology if they happen as a New Age event. Memorial Day is a day to give thanks to the Archangel Michael and to remember all those worldwide who were soldiers for something virtuous. Thanksgiving Day is a feast day, and New Age practitioners should cook a nurturing feast for themselves, whether or not they will also celebrate the holiday in a group.
